दूध में कैल्शियम और प्रोटीन का भंडार होता है और प्रोटीन कई प्रकार के होते हैं उन्हीं में से एक प्रोटीन है  केसीन। जिसकी दूध में मात्रा तकरीबन 80 फीसदी होती है। लेकिन रिसर्च में ये सामने आया है कि देसी गाय जो A2 दूध देती हैं उसमें केसीन प्रोटीन के साथ-साथ एक बेहद ही खास अमीनो एसिड भी निकलता है जिसे हम प्रोलीन (prolin) कहते हैं। माना गया है कि ये प्रोलीन नामक अमीनो एसिड हमारी सेहत के लिए बेहद ही महत्वपूर्ण है। और चूंकि ये केवल A2 मिल्क में ही उपलब्ध है लिहाज़ा A2 दूध A1 मिल्क से ज्यादा अच्छा माना जाता है। सामने आया है कि A2 दूध में मौजूद प्रोलीन हमारी बॉडी में BCM 7 को पहुंचने से रोकता है। चलिए अब आपको बताते हैं कि  BCM 7 है क्या ?

BCM 7 यानि Beta- Casomorphin-7….ये एक ओपीओइड पेप्टाइड (opioid peptide) है। जो ऐसा प्रोटीन है जो हमारी बॉडी में पचता नहीं है। लिहाज़ा ये शरीर में अपच होने का कारण बनता है। यानि इसके शरीर में पहुंचने से कई तरह की समस्याओं का सामना करना पड़ता है। लेकिन A2 में मौजूद प्रोलीन इस BCM 7 को हमारे शरीर में पहुंचने से रोकता है। जबकि A1 गाय प्रोलीन नहीं बनाती जिससे  BCM 7 हमारे शरीर में पहुंच जाता है।यहीं कारण है कि A1 दूध का पचना मुश्किल हो जाता है।

BCM 7 के नुकसान

-BCM 7 युक्त दूध से बच्चों में मधुमेह की समस्या बढ़ने की पूरी संभावना है।

-जांच में पाया गया है कि इस प्रकार के दूध से दिल संबंधी बीमारियों का ख़तरा भी बढ़ जाता है। 

हालांकि ये कहना गलत ही होगा कि ये दूध पीने योग्य नहीं है क्योंकि कई बार इस तरह की रिसर्च भी हुई हैं जिनमें ये सामने आया है कि इस दूध को पीने से शरीर में किसी तरह का नुकसान नहीं होगा। ऐसे में दूध नुकसानदायक है या नहीं ये कहना जल्दबाज़ी होगी।
